- Pool Play into Bracket
- Teams are split into pools for round robin play, then advance into a single or double elimination bracket, seeded by pool finish. Advance every team, or set a cutoff (top finishers per pool or overall) when generating the bracket.
- Bracket type
- Single elimination
- 3rd place game
- Yes
The top half of each pool (rounded up) advances to the bracket.
The bracket is set to exactly 8 teams. If the rule above doesn't produce that many, the next highest-ranked remaining teams overall fill the rest as wildcards; if it produces more, only the top-ranked teams by that same ranking advance.
Based on the division's current pool sizes: 3 teams will come from Pool A, 2 teams will come from Pool B, 2 teams will come from Pool C, and there will be 1 wildcard team.
Within a pool, standings ties are broken in order by: head-to-head result (only when exactly two teams are tied), then point differential, then fewest points allowed, then highest average points scored per game, then a fixed (non-random) tiebreak if still tied.
When ranking same-tier finishers from different pools for bracket seeding (for example, every pool's own 2nd-place team against each other), the same tiebreakers apply, except head-to-head — those teams never played each other.
Game format
Fixed by MLP: Women's Doubles, Men's Doubles, and both Mixed Doubles games play to 11, win by two; the DreamBreaker tiebreaker (only if tied 2-2) is rally scoring to 21, win by two. Every match always plays all 4 games, even after an early 3-0 lead.
