PickleOps vs. Pickleheads
USA Pickleball named Pickleheads its official technology partner for recreational play, specifically for round robins, leagues, and ladders. That scope is the key thing to understand before comparing: it's built for recurring rec-play, not for running a bracket tournament.
Different scope, not just different pricing
Pickleheads' own materials describe round robins, "mini-tournaments" (pool play into a bracket, up to 32 teams), leagues, and ladders with configurable court-movement rules. PickleOps covers a wider range of single-day tournament structures directly: pool play into bracket, round robin only, round robin plus playoffs, bracket only, compass draw, and round robin plus placement games, in single or double elimination. If your event is a club's ongoing round robin or ladder night, the two overlap closely. If it's a seeded single or double elimination bracket tournament, that's outside what Pickleheads' own materials describe.
Pricing shape
Pickleheads prices per-organizer-account by feature tier: free (capped at 2 round robins a month), Pro at $249.90/year, and Ultra at $749.90/year, with players paying separately for their own Plus tier if they want it. PickleOps prices one flat subscription per organization, scaled by trailing-12-month active player count instead of a feature-gated tier, and players never pay anything on either side.
